ABOUT ME

Stephanie Wong is a soprano currently studying at Alexander Gibson Opera School, RCS under the tutelage of Linda Ormiston. Before that she graduated from Royal Northern College of Music and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She is a grateful recipient of RCS Trust scholarship. During her study in Hong Kong, she was awarded the Michael Rippon Memorial Scholarship and HKSAR Reaching Out Award.

 

Stephanie has participated in vocal masterclass with renowned vocal masters like Karen Cargill and Michael Chance. In 2019 she was awarded Espoir prize in Age U Arts Songs category in Osaka International Music Competition. Recently she is the French song winner in 2022 David Clover Festival of Singing, a 2023 Leeds Lieder Young Artist and received the third prize in Hugh S Roberton Prize for Scottish Singing.

Stephanie’s upcoming opera productions with RCS include Pamina Die Zauberflöte and Vespina L'infedelta delusa.

Stephanie has numerous opera (scenes) performing experiences in both Hong Kong and UK. Recent opera scenes with RCS are Governess Turn of the ScrewBlanche Dialogues des Carmelites, Gretel Hänsel und Gretel, Mélisande Pelléas et Mélisande, Fox The Cunning little Vixen. Other examples include Le Converse Suor Angelica, Erste and Zweite Dame Die Zauberflöte, Giannetta L’elisir d’amore, Susanna Le Nozze di Figaro (HKAPA), Despina Così fan Tutte (NWOS), Ilia Idomeneo (RNCM). Apart from being a soloist, Stephanie was also a chorus member in opera productions like Bizet’s Carmen (MusicaViva HK), Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann (HKAPA), Verdi’s Aida and Puccini’s Turandot (Opera Hong Kong).

Stephanie recently gained her diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, providing mental health coaching specialised for musicians (please contact for more details). She strives to understand the human minds deeper, as well as foster a genuine, supportive environment in the operatic and singing industry.
